About Carson Walker
Carson Walker is a Central Texas criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor. His practice focuses on representing individuals facing criminal charges, with an emphasis on examining the government’s evidence, identifying overlooked legal issues, and helping clients understand and participate meaningfully in their defense.
His prosecution experience spans misdemeanor and felony cases, including DWI, family violence, aggravated assault, sexual offenses, and murder. That background informs his work in criminal defense, particularly in cases involving disputed evidence, complex legal questions, and allegations carrying significant consequences for a client’s freedom and future.
Before entering criminal defense, Carson served as a misdemeanor prosecutor and later as an Assistant District Attorney in a rural Texas county. In those roles, he reviewed police reports, interviewed witnesses, litigated evidentiary issues, negotiated resolutions, and tried cases before juries. That experience taught him how criminal cases are built—and where they warrant closer scrutiny. He uses that knowledge to evaluate the State’s position, examine assumptions against the available evidence, and identify weaknesses that may affect negotiations or trial.
His approach to representation is methodical and direct. He examines the government’s involvement from the outset, whether that begins with a 9-1-1 call, a traffic stop, or an investigation. Police reports are an important starting point, but the underlying evidence should be independently examined. Clients receive candid explanations of the law, the evidence, and the reasons behind strategic decisions so they can make informed choices throughout their case.
Carson studied criminal justice at Austin Community College and Texas State University, graduating from Texas State in 2016. He earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in May 2020.
Carson’s focus remains consistent: careful examination of the evidence, honest communication, and advocacy informed by the full circumstances of each client’s life. He believes an accusation does not define a person. Whether negotiating a resolution or preparing for trial, he works to ensure that the government’s case receives meaningful scrutiny and that his client’s perspective remains central to the defense.
